About Merry
Merry Gangemi was graduated from New York University with a BA in English Literature, and earned an MA in comparative literature from San Francisco State University. She is currently working on an MFA in poetry and creative non-fiction at Vermont College of Fine Arts.
In 1999, her poem, "After Running Hard off the Edge of the City", won the Audre Lorde Creative Writing Award in poetry (SFSU).
She is the programmer and host of Woman-Stirred Radio a weekly Queer cultural journal (www.wgdr.org), and a member of the Woman-Stirred writing collective.
Her poems and short fiction have been published in Chroma, River Oak Review, Wisconsin Review, Paterson Literary Review, Sinister Wisdom, Street Spirit, Harrington Lesbian Literary Review, Harrington Lesbian Fiction Quarterly, and The Journal of NJ Poets>. Articles and essays have been published inoff our backs, Vermont Woman and The Hardwick Gazette.
She lives with her partner Elizabeth Hansen in Woodbury, VT .
